Abstract	Co-polymers of N-phenyl methacrylamide and glycidyl methacrylate of different compositions were synthesized by free radical solution co-polymerization of the monomers in dimethylformamide using benzoyl peroxide as the initiator at 70°C. Solubility of the co-polymers was tested in various solvents. The molecular structure of the co-polymers was elucidated by infrared and proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The composition of the co-polymers was determined from their 1H-NMR spectra by using the intensities of aliphatic and aromatic protons present in the co-polymer. The Finemann–Ross and Kelen–Tüdos models have been employed to determine the reactivity ratios of the monomers. The intrinsic viscosities of the co-polymers of GMA and PMA were determined using a Ubblehode viscometer. The thermal transitions of the co-polymers were determined using differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis.
