| Abstract | This paper sets out the context and some main lines of argument about the education of Muslim children in England, including concern over low attainment, over segregation and violent extremism. Three approaches to inclusion of Muslims in mainstream educational settings are identified. The paper describes and assesses the identity-based approach to inclusion common to many English schools using a distinction between permissive and affirmative stances to analyse practice. It proceeds to argue for an epistemology-based approach that makes room for students’ experiential and theological perspectives on the content of their learning.Cet article décrit le contexte et les lignes directrices du débat entourant l’éducation des élèves musulmans en Angleterre, notamment les préoccupations concernant leur faible réussite, leur ségrégation marquée ainsi que l’extrémisme et la violence qui leur seraient associés. Trois approches favorisant l’inclusion des musulmans dans le système éducatif sont identifiées. L’auteure décrit d’abord l’approche basée sur l’identité communément adoptée par les écoles anglaises pour favoriser l’inclusion des musulmans. Elle l’évalue ensuite en distinguant, dans l’analyse des pratiques qui en résulte, les positions permissive et affirmative face à la diversité. En conclusion, l’auteure met de l’avant une approche basée sur l’épistémologie qui permet de donner une place aux expériences et aux perspectives théologiques des élèves dans les contenus d’apprentissage. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
