| Abstract | Samples of limestone, dolomite, dolomitic limestone, marble, travertine, sandstone, siltstone, andesite, basalt and porous basalt from different parts of Turkey were tested to obtain their UCS, porosity, water absorption, density, P-wave velocity and thermal conductivity (TC). It was observed that while TC increased with density, P-wave velocity and UCS, it decreased with increasing porosity. Equations are presented to allow an assessment of TC from these physico-mechanical properties.Des échantillons de calcaire, dolomie, calcaire dolomitique, marbre, travertin, grès, siltite, basalte et lave basaltique de différentes régions de Turquie ont été testés pour déterminer la résistance à la compression simple, la porosité, la densité, la vitesse de propagation des ondes P, et la conductivité thermique. On a observé que la conductivité thermique augmente avec la densité, la vitesse des ondes P et la résistance à la compression simple, tandis qu’elle diminue avec l’augmentation de la porosité. Des équations sont présentées afin d’évaluer la conductivité thermique à partir des propriétés physiques et mécaniques des roches. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
