Abstract	Los temas ambientales en Colombia han sido reconocidos como una prioridad por el gobierno, las instituciones financieras y las de gestion ambiental a nivel nacional e internacional. Estas instituciones buscan fortalecer los fondos de inversion y dirigir recursos hacia la definicion de politicas y el desarrollo de proyectos de Gestion Ambiental. Dicho analisis se establece desde una perspectiva integral de los fenomenos tanto economicos como ambientales, para hacer frente a los riesgos politicos y economicos por diversos cambios ambientales que se producen. Lo anterior, para avanzar hacia la nueva perspectiva de desarrollo promovida por algunas instituciones como el Banco Mundial. Este articulo busca describir los fundamentos financieros que involucra la gestion ambiental en todos sus aspectos, especialmente en desastres naturales en Colombia. Palabras clave: Financiamiento, gestion ambiental, desastres naturales, riesgos ambientales. Abstract Environmental issues in Colombia have been acknowledged as a priority by government, financial institutions and those of environmental management at the national and international levels. They seek to strengthen investment funds and to address funds to policy definition and the development of environmental management projects. Such an analysis is set from a comprehensive perspective of both economic and environmental phenomena, so that they can face political and economic risks which result from the various environmental. This in order to advance to the new development approach promoted by some institutions like World Bank. This paper intends to describe financial fundamentals involving environmental management in a comprehensive way, especially in natural disasters in Colombia.
