Abstract	VALIDATION AND ANALySIS OF A BRIEF SCALE TO ASSESS CLASSROOM CLIMATE IN SECONDARy EDUCATION. The purpose of this article is to contribute to the design of brief instruments that facilitate the collaboration of students in multiple studies and that can be used by teachers in their daily practice. We designed, validated and analysed a classroom climate questionnaire with fewer than 15 items for students in secondary education. After reviewing 22 scales, the brief scale classroom climate (EBCC) questionnaire was designed, made up of 11 items distributed in two dimensions: group cohesion, comprising the satisfaction and involvement factors and cohesion between peers; and group guidance, which includes the teacher-student relationship, order and organisation and orientation towards the task. The sample consisted of 724 students from four compulsory secondary education centres and students in the first year of higher secondary education. The content was validated by a committee of experts and criteria validity was checked by means of a correlational study using the assessment scale of the social climate of the classroom (PérezCarbonell, Ramos and Bruguera, 2009) and an index of student disciplinary expulsions and reports. Construct validity was verified using a confirmatory factor analysis and the reliability coefficient was determined with a test-retest method, and lastly the items were analysed. Our results showed a redefinition of the construct in criteria validity, with statistically significant correlations in two criteria validity tests.
