| Abstract | The present study analyzes the results of the implementation of a triage consulting center as a strategy to improve the quality and coverage of patient demand in the Uncovia Health Center of the Hermano Miguel parish. This was a quantitative and retrospective descriptive study, based on the processing of the information contained in the form 008 that the Health Center uses to evaluate patients who come for urgencies - emergencies. In addition there were performed surveys, the result of the sample obtained from the patients who were treated in the triage clinic to assess the satisfaction of the user before this system. Finally patient is complaints that were received during the study period were reviewed and quantified. Only after the data was analyzed, it has been able to attend to 720 patients who did not have an appointment through the contact center. According to the Manchester Triage Scheme, the main priority was III. These priorities correspond to first-level care, which were attended properly, reducing the influx of patients to the Emergency of Third Level Hospitals, in our case, Regional Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso. The triage system has been able to provide timely attention, through the data obtained from the sample of cases, since if we recall the bibliography about triage the waiting time to access a medical consultation. It is recommended to implement the triage system in each of the PHC Operational Units providing the necessary infrastructure, personnel, medicines and supplies, destined for triage. |
