| Abstract | With the advance of technology, modernization of the labor process has become part of the social and the economic evolution of life. These factors contributed to the emergence of public policies related to workers' health, aiming at promoting health and improving working conditions. The objective of this study was to investigate the working conditions of the gas station attendants of Cruz das Almas, BA. This research, carried out with 21 gas station attendants, was exploratory, qualitative, and descriptive. Data were collected by means of questionnaires on working conditions and direct observation of the working environment. It was found that most of the risks are inherent to the job and may be responsible for the workers' health problems. Thus, workers must be trained and qualified on the importance and proper use of personal protection equipment (PPE). Information about the work environment must be shared with the attendants, highlighting the exposure to occupational hazards and ways to minimize them. It is expected that by adopting these new measures, significant changes in the working conditions of attendants will occur through the minimization of exposure to occupational hazards, thus, promoting the improvement of health conditions. |
