| Abstract | In the present thesis, we have used a glottopolitical model to analyze terminological activity in Quebec. This model has enabled us, on the one hand, to highlight the language management actions in which society participates, which we have named glottopolitical factors and, on the other hand, to analyze the main orientations of terminological production from 1961 to 2002. We aim to gain a better understanding of the context of terminological production in Quebec during fort Y years of terminolinguistic activity. To capture this context of production, . we have identified six periods characterizing terminological production in Quebec. Within these six periods, going from 1961 (date of the creation of the Office de la langue française) to 2002 (date of the creation of the new Office québécois de la langue française), we have studied the editorial discourse in the terminological publications of two sectors of human activity: automobile and food industries. For this study, we have designed an observation tobl in order to analyze the editorial discourse in the terminological publications of the two sectors and we have completed our analysis by means of socioterminological questionnaires. The use of a glottopolitical model to characterize terminological production is for us an interesting sociolinguistical tool which underlines the impact of society on terminological development. |
