Abstract	The present study intended to characterize the process of implantation of the oral health in the Family Health Strategy in Porto Alegr e since its implementation up to this moment. Revision of related literature and secondar y ta were analyzed to explain aspects related to the subject “the insertion of the oral h ealth team in the Family Health Strategy in Porto Alegre”. The data control of quality was done by the investigators themselves. The selected works and the data were analyzed and prese nted in descriptive form and through charts and tables using the Excel program. The data pointed to a gradual increase regarding the number of Community Health Agents, of Family He alth Strategy and introduced Oral Health Team, in Brazil, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and in the city of Porto Alegre, between 2001 and 2010. The Oral Health Team present d the most expressive growth in the period. With that, also it increased the proportion of covered population, as well as the number of local municipalities that adhered to the Community Health Agents Program and to the Family Health Strategy. It was verified in this period, a slight increase in the number of Oral Health Teams in the Family Health Strategy in Porto Alegre, with predominance of the Type II Model. The intention of this study was to c ntribute with information about the inclusion of the Oral Health Team in the Family Hea lth Strategy in the city of Porto Alegre, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and in Brazil.
