| Abstract | Neste estudo investiga-se a malacofauna associada as raizes de Eichhornia azurea (Sw.) Palavras-chave: moluscos limnicos, Eichhornia azurea , E. crassipes , sedimento, delta do Jacui, RS. ABSTRACT Seasonal qualitative analysis of limnical mollusc fauna in delta do Jacui, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. In this study the mollusks associated to the roots of Eichhornia azurea (Sw.) Kunth is investigated and of Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms-Laub. and to the superficial sediment of bottom in the waters of the State Park “Delta do Jacui” (29o53’ and 30o03’ S and 51o28’ and 51o13’ W), Rio Grande do Sul, through seasonal quantitative survey, accomplished from autumn of 1998 to autumn of 2000, in three stations (basin das Garcas – E1, Quilombo – E2, CP1 – E3). In each station three points were sampled, in the left margin, right and inside the respective basin being their entrance observed. The species, places where they live and their preferential substrata are identified. Larger occurrence of gastropods is verified in the community’s structure in relation to the bivalve ones and young individuals’ predominance in both groups. Gastropoda: Heleobia bertoniana (Pilsbry, 1911) and Bivalvia: Eupera klappenbachi Mansur e Veitenheimer, 1975 were the dominant, respectively. It is concluded to be E. azurea bentonica the preferential substratum for the mollusks, where it is enrolled larger abundance and wealth of species. In the station E2 the largest frequency, abundance and wealth of species are noted. Key words: freshwater mollusks, Eichhornia azurea , E. crassipes , sediment, delta of Jacui, Rio Grande do Sul. |
