| Abstract | This paper proposes to analyze the contribution of John Rawls' liberal theory to the theoretical basis of affirmative actions, as measures to promote material equality between people who are not at the same level of opportunity, with a look at Brazilian law. By the principle of difference, differences between people are allowed, provided that it is to benefit the less favored. The Brazilian legal system provides affirmative action measures, in line with human rights theory. The method of deductive approach and the dogmatic-juridical research of bibliographical nature were used, through the consultation of works and documents. |
