| Abstract | The Ways of Coping Questionnaire created by Folkman and Lazarus in 1984 evaluates thoughts and actions that people use to deal with internal or external demands of a specific stressful event. This inventory was adapted and validated for the Portuguese language. The aim of this study is to determine the areas in which this adaptation has been used. A literature review of the research in which the Brazilian version of the Inventory was used, was performed as data collection instrument. 92 studies were included and 8291 subjects were evaluated. The Ways of Coping Questionnaire was used in Brazil in many researches related to stress and coping in different segments of health. It was also used in researches focusing on the stress of some professions. Thus, it has been applied to a large number of subjects, consolidating its position as one of the instruments most adopted in the Brazilian researches on coping. |
