Abstract	It is extremely important to water potability analyzes regarding the prevention of waterborne diseases, especially becomes necessary in places where there is a large flow of people, such as schools, which are subject to risks brought about by the poor quality this water. The aim of this study was to evaluate the water quality consumed in public schools in the city of Coremas - PB. Microbiological analyzes were performed to determine the presence of total coliforms and / or thermotolerant and Escherichia coli as well as physical and chemical analysis to assess turbidity, color and pH of the water. All samples showed levels of total coliforms and Escherichia coli, which demonstrates the poor quality of the water; The physical and chemical parameters observed as the color was totally unsatisfactory, as the turbidity and the pH was within the potability standards second (PORT. MS No. 2914/2011). We conclude that, in referring to human consumption these waters are totally inappropriate, thus requiring measures be taken.
