| Abstract | The hygiene in the production, storage and transportation of milk are the main factors affecting contamination by microorganisms and consequently milk quality. The aim was to evaluate milk quality of milk production units in southern Rio Grande do Sul. In this work there were present the results of total bacterial count (TBC) and somatic cell count (SCC), comparing them to the standards of current legislation. The study was conducted from November to December 2014. Samples were collected in milk production units of region, and sent to the Milk Quality Laboratory at Embrapa Temperate Climate, for evaluation of CBT and CCS by Flow cytometry. The mean CBT was 303 x 1.000 CFU / ml of milk, and CCS was 527 x 1.000 cells / ml milk. Milk produced by production units evaluated in southern Rio Grande do Sul region has means for sanitary quality and hygienic near the maximum limits required by IN 62. |
