| Abstract | Recent amendments to the Road Traffic Law and the rules for applying the European Standards in the field of specialized technical requirements for the fire fighting vehicles require analysis as well as legal substantive discussion. The new and amended regulations admitting this type of vehicles to the road operation, using the type-approval procedures, in terms of the national individual approval of new vehicles or as a result of structural modifications and replacement of components in not-new vehicles, are often inadequately applied. The objective of this paper is to categorize the procedures with a clear description of the rules to proceed in accordance with the regulations. This way of describing the principles of proper manufacturing and adaptation of vehicles will enable entrepreneurs and potential users to avoid problems during registration, periodic technical examinations at the vehicle inspection stations and during roadside checks. |
