| Abstract | Virtual Learning Environments, such as Moodle, commonly used in higher education, record student activity in high detail. Although it is valuable information, it is usually hidden for both the teacher and the student because they do not have adequate analysis tools. This paper presents a simple analysis of this information through spreadsheets and compares the activity and learning outcomes of the last four academic courses for the subject of Engineering Thermodynamics and Fundamentals of Heat Transfer of the Degree in Engineering of Industrial Technologies at the University of Zaragoza. The results have been used to detect inappropriate practices and to analyze the effect of modifying the evaluation in order to encourage a proper use of continuous assessment activities. |
