Educação alimentar para usuários com diabetes mellitus: Uma proposta de intervenção

Abstract	Diabetes Mellitus is a major and growing health problem worldwide, regardless of the degree of development of the country, both in terms of numbers of people affected, incapacitated, premature mortality, as the costs to the health system. Nutrition education is one of the key points in treatment. And not possible a good metabolic control without adequate food. The aim of this work was to elaborate a project of intervention to promote educational activities about the eating habits of Diabetes Mellitus users registered at the family health team Iporanga, Sete Lagoas, MG. Surveys were carried out from the database of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, the municipal database Information System of basic attention, the electronic Registration system sites and monitoring of hypertensive and diabetic patients and the Department of Informatics of the unified health system of Brazil, among others. A review of the literature was conducted using search engines such as: Scientific Electronic Library Online, Latin American Literature and Caribbean Center on health sciences, publications of the Ministry of health and others. For the preparation of the action plan were used the steps to drawing up a plan of action described in the planning and evaluation of health of the specialization course in basic care in family health. Structured intervention plan, noted that the actions do not focus on only the user with Diabetes Mellitus, also involves health team and population in General. Share experiences through educational programs by purchasing a higher level of information, help to fight disease, increasing treatment adherence.
