Abstract	Due to globalization, foreign trade between countries has evolved through the FTA ́s that are being signed in order to enter to new international markets. That is how this research arises in order to analyze the impact that may bring the Free Trade Agreement signed by Colombia and the countries from the Northern Triangle in terms of unemployment, trade balance, productivity and competitiveness. As a way to achieve this objective, Colombia subscribed an FTA with the countries from the Northern Triangle so they could incentivize investments between the countries, improve the conditions to access the markets and provide an increase in the development of the involved countries. This research will provide information regarding what is behind this agreement, what do these countries want to achieve, what opportunities will arise and what will be the impact in terms of unemployment, trade balance, productivity and competitiveness in Colombia. Therefore, a descriptive analysis was made of the exports and imports of the countries involved in the FTA, the behavior of the sectors in the economies of Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras was analyzed and the most important products that Colombia exports to these three countries were identified. Those will be the most benefited products with the treaty. Through this analysis, it can be concluded that the FTA signed between Colombia and the Northern Triangle is a great opportunity for the enterprises, especially the small and medium ones because they can diversify their offer and improve the competitiveness of their products in those markets.
