| Abstract | Coil inductors are critical components used in LCD displays to support the display of the mobile phone screen at any time switched on. This component is produced by PT. X is a manufacturing company that produces electronic components. The problem company facing now is still found high production costs due to higher production defects resulting from the production line 5PS models so that production becomes ineffective and inefficient. From the main problem above it can be determined the purpose of this research is to obtain the causes of defective products and find solutions to reduce it and also how the effect of improvement to process performance. Results of research conducted in the production process are identified drum core chips become the highest defect product compare to other types of product defects in the production process 5PS coil models. Analysis is given to a product defect with the value of the Risk Priority Number (RPN) which the highest number use for data processing on Failure Mode and Effect Analyze (FMEA) and the concept of Lean Manufacturing. Further improvement measures are conducted using Six Sigma concepts. The results of this research can reduce the number of defects drum core chip which is one process waste from 0.59 % to 0.36 % and cost savings of US $ 2,027.49 / year. Then Takt Time process become more faster from 0.65 seconds to 0.62 seconds so that production becomes more efficient and effective.. |
