| Abstract | SummaryThe application of zinc increased inorganic P, total carbohydrates, total protein, lysine and tryptophan in the leaves as well as in the grains. Soluble carbohydrates were unaffected in the leaves whereas decreased in the grains. The effect of P application was similar to a great extent to that of zinc. This similarity is partly attributed to the positive relationship that was obtained between Zn-uptake and P-uptake by the plants. |
