| Abstract | The aim of this study was to establish the morphostructural and faneroptic measures cattle dual purpose eastern province of Manabi, whose coordinates, geographical is 1 2 '15 "S and 80 ° 27' 35" west longitude at an altitude of 6-350 m Ecuador, in a sample of 200 adult cows. 16 corporal variables phaneroptical nine characters were measured. Dual purpose cattle showed low variability (LCF), (DD) and (PC), with a degree of homogeneity of medium to high being remarkable uniformity of these morfoestructurales features. The (ACF, (LR) (LC) (ACR), (DB) (DE, (PT), (LOI), (AG), (LG) and (AII) showed moderate variability with a coefficient of variation between 11.20 to 42.05%. In phaneroptical characters was observed at a higher rate profile frontonasal straight (100%), the prevailing development of large (58%) horns, the shape of the horns was highly variable, towering high hook (55.0%), hook means (45.0%), size 69% medium ear, ears horizontal orientation of 97%, length of neck medium entire animal, lumbar back straight line (63%) and 100% belly collected. The color layer reported nine color variants, the most common (28.5%) are based on the red coat. It was concluded that bovine double purpose in the morphometric and phaneroptical features were properly characterized, most are within the range reported for other groups dual purpose cattle in Ecuador and below most racial groups in some South American countries. |
