Abstract	Espana no fue una excepcion en la valoracion y el desarrollo del hecho fisicodeportivo, respecto a otros paises de nuestro entorno geografico y cultural. La implantacion de las practicas fisicas entre la poblacion espanola durante el primer tercio de siglo XX, estuvo muy influenciada por el ideario del movimiento regeneracionista, que veia la educacion fisica y el deporte como una nueva “medicina” para la resurgimiento de esta nacion cansada, desmoralizada y sin energias que quedo tras el “desastre” y la perdida colonial del 98. VALUES OF "REGENERACIONISMO" IN SPANISH PHYSICAL EDUCATION (1898-1936) SUMMARY : Compared to countries sharing similar geographical and cultural enviroment, Spain was not an exception in the manner in which physical-sportive activities were appreciated and developed. The insertion of physical practices among spanish people at the beginning of the XXth Century was influenced by the ideas of Regeneracionismo. Such concept understood physical education and sport as the new “medicine” prescribed for the revival of an exhausted, disheartened nation, strengthless after the “disaster” and the loss of the american colonies in 1898.
