| Abstract | This paper analyses the impact of the housing fiscal policy actually in force in Spain on the individual simultaneous choices as regards housing tenure and urban location, being considered these under four options: homeownership according to the degree of urbanization of the area (high level urban, medium-inferior level urban and rural), and renting. With this aim and using cross sectional data from the Spanish Survey of Household’s Budgets (ECPF) for 1999, we propose a multinomial mixed logit which incorporates a measure of the existing fiscal wedge in favour of homeownership. This model permits us to evaluate housing fiscal policy actually in force in Spain in terms of its impact on individual decisions. |
