| Abstract | In the digital age, the protection of the person encompasses personal data, notably sensitive data, characterized by the ability to generate discrimination and inequality. The article examined the adequacy of the concept of sensitive data in Brazil’s General Law of Data Protection, through a documentary analysis. It was concluded that the protection offered is insufficient due to the identification of a precise list of what constitutes sensitive data. The enlargement of the normative concept of sensitive data through a general clause can represent a technique of hazard management and strengthen the construction of a data protection culture in Brazil.
