| Abstract | The cultural economy is presented as a phenomenon that arises from the process of globalization, and is defined as the set of activities that in a chained way allow ideas to be transformed into cultural goods and services. This is grouped into four sectors classified into: musical arts, ancestral heritage, media and functional creations. Therefore, the research focuses on understanding the phenomenon of cultural economy in the case of Bogotá for the period 2010-2016, specifically with the music industry, because this space based on inquiries made by the Ministry of Culture, District Institute of Arts – Idartes, and the Mayor of Bogotá, is the one with the greatest attention received by the stakeholders interested in the growth of the cultural economy. In accordance with the above, the practices of the public-private sector will be analyzed, as a source for cultural development, the different activities developed jointly and individually, as opposed to the promotion of events, festivals or concerts and the different business models, that strengthened Bogotá's cultural economy during this period. In order to show how the cultural economy finds in the music industry one of the strategic sectors for the strengthening of its business model, despite the fact that the city of Bogotá has been limited by the differentiated work of public institutions and private. |
