| Abstract | The research was intended to generate basic information on riparian ecosystems, which produce and conserve biodiversity in fragmented agriculture and livestock landscapes. It was found that wider bands of riparian forests are preferred by avian species, due to higher food availability and refuge areas in comparison to narrower riparian primary forests. It is necessary to include riparian ecosystems in operative and policy formulations that answer to local and regional conditions for the conservation of biodiversity and water quality in Sesesmiles Micro watershed in Copán, Honduras. |
