The purpose of this study was to evaluate Birth Weights (BW), Weaning Weight (WW), Adjust Weaning Weight at 205 days (AWW205) and Daily Weight Gain (DWG) during the period of lactation, in six different breeds in beef cattle. The study took place in the farm Guapinolapa in Chontales, Nicaragua. We used a completely randomized design (CRD), for the analysis of the data we also used the Analysis of Variance Procedure, mean separation, minimum significant difference with a significant level of P≤0.05 using the statistical analysis system (SAS 2009). The highest BW (P≤0.05) was obtained by pure Brahman and crossbred Brahman with 35.5 and 37.2 kg respectively. For the variable WW the best results (P≤0.05) were obtained by pure Brahman, crossbred Brahman and Angus with 203.2, 197.2, 206.3 kg respectively and for the variable for DWG we obtained the same results with the same breeds. For AWW205 the highest (P≤0.05) were for pure Brahman and the cross with Angus cattle. In a planned crossbreed the best results were obtained for pure Brahman and the cross with Angus cattle.
