| Abstract | According to the current trend to reduce exhaust emissions of spark-ignition engines use different methods of limiting the impact of emissions on the environment. The article presents the results of research, whose aim was to verify the effect of the technical condition of the turbocharger on exhaust emissions of a spark-ignition engine. The research have been done on damage turbocharger. Results have been compared with the results of new turbochargers. This paper present the basic principle operation of the labyrinth seal. Next, the influence of labyrinth seal in bad condition to the operation of turbocharger have been verified. The results shows that the turbocharger working with worn seals (even slightly) generates an increase in exhaust emissions of harmful compounds into the atmosphere. |
