The aim of this study was to analyze the processes of continuing education of teachers in a school located in the urban area of the municipal educational network of Santa Cruz do Sul (RS), in the perspective of how these processes management occurs. The actions proposed by SMEC for continuing education were analyzed, as well as how teachers recognize the importance of continuing education, how those involved manage / provide this training and how these actions can be implemented on school management. The methodology was characterized as a qualitative case study, for which an interview was conducted with the Pedagogical Coordinator, who represents SMEC and a questionnaire applied to 14 teachers from a school in the school system. For information analysis, we employed the preparation of schemes from the exploration of material, which made its interpretation possible. Among the main findings, we could point out the need to plan and develop actions for continuing education, as teachers are imbued with difficulties in their teaching practice, which proves the need to be a learner fellow. This is also a need because knowledge is not limited, that is, it must be constantly reinterpreted due to the demands of the teaching profession. It is also important to mention that participation in continuing education initiatives alone will not educate the professional teacher. For it to be possible, teachers have to desire and to be "open" to it, in constant search of coming-to-be, this will reflect on their professional development as well as on the school organization and management. Key-words: School management. Continuing education. Professional development. |
