Abstract	Este articulo constituye una primera mirada a la situacion actual del gobierno de las tecnologias de informacion (TI) en la Universidad de La Habana (UH). Al ofrecer la definicion y el objetivo del gobierno de las TI, se esclarece la confusion que normalmente origina la utilizacion de ese termino, y se muestran varias posibilidades para la evaluacion de esa actividad. Ademas se contrasta dicha situacion con elementos teoricos novedosos, y se llega a la conclusion de que existen posibilidades para la adopcion, a largo plazo, de un gobierno de las TI mucho mas efectivo. palabras clave: gobierno de las TI, tecnologias de la informacion, Universidad de La Habana Abstract This article is a first look to the current situation of Information Technologies (IT) management in the University of Havana (UH). Offering the definition and aim of IT management, the confusion commonly originated by the use of this term, is clarified; besides, different possibilities to assess this activity are shown. In addition, such situation is compared with novel theoretical elements and we come to the conclusion that there exist possibilities for adopting, at a long term, a much more effective IT Management. keywords: IT management, information technologies, University of Havana.
