| Abstract | Calcareous soils present a problem for some crops, since having a high pH it causes the appearance of ferric chlorosis, and consequently leaf yellowness, decrease in the production, etc. For the correction of the pH of the studied calcareous soils, the Ferrous Sulphate Monohydrated (SFM) is used. This product usually contains a high iron percentage (15- 30%) and of sulphuric acid (18%), being these its two main components. The aim of this work is the study of the evolution of the pH, CE, Ca ++ , Mg ++ , K + and Na + in waters leached in columns of different calcareous soils, after the application of Ferrous Sulphate Monohydrated. From the obtained data, it can be concluded that these calcareous soils owe their high pH to salts of the ion calcium that acts dominating the whole hydrochemical process. |
