| Abstract | The continuous ion exchange method was applied for the desorption of cations ir a calcareous soil. The relation between the clay mineralogy and its response to the potassic fertilization was studies. The exchangeable relations curves for each catión (Ca^*, Mg^*, K*. Na*) throughout the exchange process were plotted with the concentration data of the different cations in the extrae! of soil and fertilized soil. The results reflect that the exchangeable potassium level at the end of the fertilization is sufficient for the growth of plants. although the high relea.se of potassium at the end of ihe experimenl shows that are some difficulties in the inmediate use of potassium. |
