| Abstract | Inverse gas chromatography was used to determine the activity coefficients and the partition coefficients between 7 Ionic liquids and 40 different organic compounds. The interactions between the ionic liquids and each organic compound were examined. The effects of the carbon chain length in the ionic liquids, as well as group contribution on the activity coefficients with different types of organic compounds were determined. The effects carbon chain length and types of organic compounds on activity coefficients were also determined. The obtained activity coefficient data between the Ionic liquids and organic compounds can be used to examine the selectivity, and the effectiveness of these Ionic liquids for use in different extraction processes. |
