| Abstract | The Statute of Persons with Disabilities was established with the objective of promoting the social inclusion of persons with disabilities, as well as guaranteeing them the exercise of fundamental rights and freedoms. As a form of guarantee of access to education, art. 28, §1o, of the Statute determined that private schools should include pupils with disabilities in the regular school system, with the necessary adjustments being made by the institutions, without any transfer of the financial burden. From this obligation, questions arise about the responsibility of "special" education: is it the duty of the State, or should it be shared between it and private institutions? |
