| Abstract | Town’s heritage is the physical trace ofit’s citizens and the living memory ofit’s history. In this way, it gives next generations a better knowledge oftheir origins. and a better visibility for the future oftheir shared space. For this reason, the new architectural projects should not break this historical progression, in which they are indeed a fleeting step. In this view ofthings, the aim ofthis research is to establish a method that helps projecf s actors, when consulting each other. to explore an area of architectural propositions without draffing them. By virtually simulating these propositions. actors will be able to detennine those that correspond to there criteria, and mach to the architectural characteristics ofthe place they will be inserted in. For this, we have combined action’s programming technique and optimisation technique to develop an new method (evolutionarv modelling) that brings possible solutions for this problem. Our stttdy case is bascd on the renovation of commercial shop fronts of Saint-Lawrence boulevard in Montreal. In this report. wc put into action an information system prototype that implements this new architectural modetiing method. The resuits ofthis use ate discussed at tue end ofthis report. and we clraw some perspectives for next researches. that vill follow this way. |
