| Abstract | The article aims to analyse the effects of hegemonic ideas and the neoliberal global governance on the formulation of development policies in Latin America, foregrounding the renewed interest in the promotion of the concept of developmental state into the political and academic debate in the region. Focusing on analytical debates and controversies about the relationships between structure and actors, between domestic and international policies, as well as the (re)production of governance regimes. The article highlights the systemic context (history) of the neoliberal globalization process, transnational regulatory regimes (global governance), and their interfaces and possible influences for the emergence (or not) of alternative development policies (developmental state). |
