Abstract	Este artigo tem como objetivo delinear a insercao dos negros no mercado de trabalho da Regiao Metropolitana de Porto Alegre (RMPA), entre os anos 1993-2016, comparando-a com o desempenho da populacao nao negra no mesmo periodo e observando as diferencas em momentos de elevacao do desemprego (bienios 1998-99 e 2015-16). Os dados utilizados sao provenientes da Pesquisa de Emprego e Desemprego na Regiao Metropolitana de Porto Alegre (PED-RMPA). A analise busca avaliar o nivel ocupacional, as taxas de desemprego, os setores de atividade economica e o rendimento medio. The data used come from the Employment and Unemployment Survey in the Metropolitan Area of Porto Alegre (PED-RMPA). The analysis seeks to assess the employment level, the unemployment rates, the economic activity sectors and the average earnings.
