| Abstract | The present study is due to concerns about the understanding of dichotomous arguments about practice and theory in the context of continuing education and initial teacher education. Its starting point to reflect on the vehemence of speech advocates of the need for school education of all mathematical concepts should prioritize: the practical, everyday application. This pedagogical principle, however, is understood differently by the Historical Critical Pedagogy and Cultural History and Theory, foundations of Proposed Structure for the State of Santa Catarina, as well as other proposals of the Municipal Education Networks. Thus, the research problem was defined as: What is the interpretation of "practice" in the theoretical context of the HistoricalCritical Pedagogy and also the Historical-Cultural Theory with its objectification in the proposition Davydov for the introduction of teaching the concept of multiplication? Aim: to analyze issues relating to the reference practice, served in the context of training of mathematics teachers. To this end, the research method is characterized in the literature and adopted as a theoretical basis the authors of Critical Pedagogy and Theory History and Cultural History. Furthermore, it takes as a reference in the context of objectification propositions davydovianas school for teaching the concept of multiplication. The study provides arguments that can not be a dichotomous coexistence of practice and theory. In davydovianas propositions for teaching the concept of multiplication, the practical and theoretical translate into actual content covered in the conceptual set of particular tasks. These allow students to adopt as an analysis and reading for the appropriation of the meanings of the concept. |
