| Abstract | Aulyadine Nursani / A510150216. SCHOOL HEAD EFFORTS TO APPLY CHILDREN'S FRIENDLY SCHOOL IN SD MUHAMMADIYAH SPECIAL PROGRAM KOTTABARAT SURAKARTA ACADEMIC YEAR 2018/2019. Essay. Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Muhammadiyah University Surakarta. The purpose of this researcg is to: 1) Describe the efforts of principals in implementing child-friendly schools in the Muhammadiyah Elementary School Special Program Kottabarat Surakarta. 2) Describe the obstacles in implementing child-friendly schools in SD Muhammadiyah Special Program Kottabarat Surakarta. 3) Describe the solution in implementing child-friendly schools in SD Muhammadiyah Special Program Kottabarat Surakarta. This research uses descriptive qualitative research type. This research was conducted at the Muhammadiyah Elementary School Special Program Kottabarat Surakarta. When this research was conducted from February to June 2019. The informants in this study were the principal, teachers and students. In this study, researchers used data collection techniques by observation, documentation, and interviews. Data analysis was performed using an interactive analysis model, through the steps of data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the principal's efforts in implementing child-friendly schools in SD Muhammadiyah Special Program Kottabarat Surakarta contained indicators. (1) Efforts in implementing a child-friendly school program in SD Muhammadiyah Special Program Kottabarat Surakarta. (2) Obstacles in implementing child-friendly schools in SD Muhammadiyah Special Program Kottabarat Surakarta. The obstacles are (a) SOPs that have not been made entirely and inadequate infrastructure. (b) Implementation of a curriculum designed based on the concept of child protection. (c) the implementation of the curriculum that is when the replacement of new teachers, tend not to understand the character of children. (3) The solution to the constraints faced by the principal of the Kottabarat Special Program Muhammadiyah Elementary School is (a) immediately make an SOP and will add and improve infrastructure facilities. (b) the school is trying to adapt to child friendly, but still within the ability of the school. (c) the school, the new teacher must have an internship 3 months in advance, periodically there is an evaluation of new teachers, given also reinforcement of all one by one that must be passed and remain under guidance by conducting periodic evaluations of new teachers. |
