| Abstract | The following paper addresses the study of the socio-spatial segregation from immigration status, the selected focus group were the recent immigrants, according to the population census records of 2005, analyzing the relationship between their place of origin and the existence of concentration patterns at the neighborhood level. It is found that immigrants from Bogota are located in a strip of the city that covers from 25th Street to the west of the city in two sectors, northern and southern districts of the city. The immigrants from municipalities from the Colombian Pacific are located predominantly in the east, in specific communes such as 7, 13, 14, 15 and 21. Spatial interactions conjugate a decisive role in the understanding of segregation, the main tools used to analyze the data were: The geographic information systems (GIS) and software for spatial data processing, which facilitated the implementation of own methodologies of analysis of spatial econometrics. |
