| Abstract | Summary Environmental education is increasingly putting on a transformative function, in the pursuit of sustainable development and it may, through food sustainability, intervene directly in the fields of health and environmental conservation. This paper analyzes the results of a perceptive walk as environmental education practicing, in which one sought to sharpen children’s senses on the assessment of the natural resources which constitute the ecosystem of the city they live in. In order to evaluate these observations, pre and after tests were carried out. The tests and perceptions identified by the children during the activity showed their better appreciation of the local biodiversity after this contact with nature. Proposals like those ones allow food to be treated holistically and, thus, allow feelings of belonging the planet and the need to care for it and respect it grow. |
