| Abstract | is article proposes a multi-theoretical model for decision-making in corporate sustainability, as a result of reviewing and synthesizing empirical literature on stakeholder theory, institutional theory, and resource-based perspective. Studies under these theories allow defining the determinants of responsible behavior. However, it remains to validate its effectiveness for decisionmaking. e article contributes to the literature in three directions: it focuses the analysis on the little-explored area of corporate sustainability; advances the theory by emphasizing the complementarity of some management theories with the purpose of improving our understanding of corporate sustainability; and provides a multi-theoretical framework for managers to identify the determinants of responsible behavior, evaluate expected outcomes, and use this information to direct decision making |
