| Abstract | Nowadays, in the clinical routine, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is widely used for the diagnosis of female pelvic floor disorders. The diagnosis rely largely on human interpretation of medical images, on the experience of physicians, with the risk of subjective interpretations. The finite element model simulation is a powerful tool for understanding based on the MRI, which can reduce the subjectivity of analysis. For this we introduce a method that performs semi-automatic detection of the pelvic organs from MR images. This work enables physicians to provide objective and quantitative analyses, which is also dedicated to geometry reconstruction and further studies of the pelvic system mobilities. A parametric B-spline model is used as the geometry descriptor. The approach consists on fitting the initial B-spline model to the organ shapes in real images by virtual image correlation. We validated our detection results (of the bladder, the vagina and the rectum) on a dataset of 19 patient images (healthy and pathological). 22eme Congres Francais de Mecanique Lyon, 24 au 28 Aout 2015 Mots clefs : B-spline, correlation d’images virtuelles, detection des organes pelviens, images IRM |
