| Abstract | This work aims to create the best model possible throught the theoretical basis of computational fluid dynamics for the process of grain cooling in storage silos. The aeration of grains is done with the objective of prolonging their consumption time and thus avoiding the product waste, thanks to the action of insects-pest, fungi and mycotoxins among others. In this context, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) emerges as an important technique for predicting and studying cooling processes in grain storage silos. The proposed problem istransient and takes into account the dependence of the properties of the material with temperature. The solution involves the analysis of airflow, heat transfer and mass, in the mass of stored grains. This analysis results in equations describing the behavior of air velocity, air temperature and humidity, and temperature and water content of the grain. The Navier-Stokes equations describe the behavior of fluids. The ideal method for this problem is Finite Volumes, being a procedure to obtain a discrete version of the partial differential equations (EDPs) that are the way in which the equations of navier-stokes are presented, from the integration of the same in a region, or volume, of the space. |
