| Abstract | The present paper underlines by way of introduction (section I) the interest of a more thorough analysis of the determinants of migrations and the associated transfers for developing countries. Section II, which accounts for the motives of migrations and transfers, distinguishes individual motives from family motives and presents the principal models representative of the literature. Section III explores the theoretical consequences of the migrations and transfers for the migrants' country of origin. The foreseeable consequences depend for the most part on the composition in human capital of the migratory flow (the question of self-selection of the migrants), as well as the motives and the identity of the beneficiaries of the transfers. The effects evident on the local labour markets, and beyond, on growth and economic development, are subsequently detailed and finally synthesized in the concluding section IV. LOS MOTIVOS DE LAS MIGRACIONES Y DE LAS TRASLACIONES ASOCIADAS UNA REVISTA DE LA LITERATURA CENTRADA EN LAS CONSECUENCIAS PREVISTAS PARA LOS PAISES EN VIAS DE DESARROLLO Resumen Este articulo insiste en la introduccion (seccion I) sobre el interes de un analisis profundo de los determinantes de las migraciones y traslaciones asociadas para los paises en vias de desarrollo. La seccion II, destinada a la explicacion de los motivos de las migraciones y de las traslaciones, distingue los motivos individuales de los motivos familiares y presenta los principales modelos representativos de la literatura. La seccion III examina detenidamente las 28 Carine Drapier, Hubert Jayet et Hillel Rapoport consecuencias teoricas de las migraciones y de las traslaciones para los paises de origen de los migrantes. Las consecuencias predecibles dependen principalmente de la composicion en capital humano de los flujos migratorios (el problema de la autoseleccion de los migrantes) y tambien de los motivos y de la identidad de los beneficiarios de las traslaciones. Los efectos agregados en los mercados locales de empleo y, mas alla, en el crecimiento y el desarrollo economico, son detallados y finalmente sintetizados en la conclusion (seccion IV). |
