Abstract	In the situation where there is damage to the bone tissue, as in the case of fractures, the process of restoration of this tissue is known as bone repair. The objective of this study was to evaluate the bone repair process after tibial osteotomy of senile Wistar rats previously submitted to strength training. For this, the animals (18 months) were distributed in the following experimental groups: NT (untrained) and TF (strength training). Intergroup analyzes showed that only the animals in the TF group 8 weeks presented a decrease in SMI (structural model index) when compared to animals of the NT group 8 weeks. Our results showed that a strength training exercise can result in protective action on bone metabolism in case of traumatic event.
