| Abstract | The black population, majority in the modality of Education of Young and Adults (EYA), faces important barriers to the realization of basic rights. So it is crucial to consider the cross-linking of education, health, food, and ethnic-racial guidelines and policies to guide educational practices in the school context. The objective of the study was to characterize students from a municipal school in Macae regarding social, economic and nutritional parameters and to present Food and Nutrition Education (EAN) workshops aimed at this public. Students’ ages were mostly between 20-59 years old (47.5%), followed by 10-19 years old (46.7%). Approximately 45% of the students self-reported as “Black”. It was observed a potential of the EAN to enrich school meals and culinary practices to promote adequate and healthy food. key words Food and nutrition education. Youth and adult education. Black people Culinaria Afrobrasilena: un sabor posible en la Educacion de Jovenes y Adultos La poblacion negra, mayoria en la modalidad de Educacion de Jovenes y Adultos (EJA), enfrenta importantes barreras para la efectuacion de los derechos basicos. De esa manera, considerar el entrecruzamiento de las directrices y politicas de educacion, salud, alimentacion y relaciones etnico-raciales es fundamental para orientar las practicas educativas en el ambito escolar. El objetivo del estudio fue caracterizar estudiantes de una escuela municipal de Macae respecto a las caracteristicas socioeconomicas y alimentarias, y presentar los talleres de Educacion Alimentaria y Nutricional (EAN) direccionados a este publico. Los estudiantes presentaron mayormente edad entre 20 y 59 anos (47,5%), seguido de 10 a 19 anos (46,7%). Cerca de 45% de los estudiantes se ha declarado negro. Se ha observado el potencial de la EAN para la valoracion de la comida escolar y las practicas culinarias para la promocion de la alimentacion adecuada y sana. palabras clave Educacion alimentaria y nutricional.
