| Abstract | 709 samples of pork and derivative products was analyze, also surfaces and work tools in deboning factories and retail stores from the department of Antioquia, Valle del Cauca and eje cafetero area, was found an overall of 31 strains of L. monocytogenes, this strains found was serotype and performed susceptibility to different antibiotics like Penicillin, ampicillin, trimethoprim, Augmentin, meropenem, rifampin, Ciprofloxacin, Clindamycin, azithromycin, erythromycin, chloramphenicol, tetracycline, vancomycin. the prevalence of L. monocytogenes in Antioquia was 2.60% (11/416), in Valle del Cauca was 3.70% (5/135) and in eje cafetero was 9.50% (15/158) this last region presented the highest results. The surface samples and work tools presented a higher prevalence rate 51.60% (16/31) than pork products 48.40% (15/31). The predominate serotype found in this study was 1-2a with a rate of 48.40% (15/31), follow by serotypes like 1-2c with 25.80% (8/31) of strains found in the same way serotype 4b with 25.80% (8/31) of found strains. The results for antibiotic resistance presented that studied strains showed a high susceptibility to antibiotics use for the listeriosis treatment in humans ampicillin, trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole and penicillin, while a resistance for meds like meropenem, rifampin, Ciprofloxacin, azithromycin, erythromycin, tetracycline and vancomycin was reported, 6 strains showen multi- resistance to several antibiotics. |
