| Abstract | Given the current presence of ICT in everyday life and in school teaching, the objective of this research was to analyze the perception of the pedagogical role of ICT and its use practices in a group of middle school teachers of Bogota district schools also taking into account demographic, training and work aspects. Based on a descriptive observational design and a non-probabilistic sampling, the questionnaires "Teaching practices of ICT use" and "Teaching perception scale of the pedagogical role of ICT" were developed and applied. In the research, 55 teachers and 45 teachers voluntarily participated, with an average age of 42 years and 17 years of teaching experience. Regarding the practices of ICT use in the classroom, only 26% of teachers use ICT permanently in their daily teaching. Regarding equipment, the personal computer (90%), the videobeam (79%) and the smartphone (39%) stood out and in software the use of Internet search engines (84%) and the office® suite stood out (74%) ), while computer resources stood out the internet and email (85%), followed by social networks (45%). On average, they spend almost half of the time on ICT (45%) in the classroom itself (87%). Regarding the perception of the pedagogical role of ICT in general average there was good perception (75 ± 11/100). In subjects of mathematics, science and technology, teachers had a greater favoribility towards the use of ICT in comparison with teachers in areas such as social and humanities, which also had less use. It was concluded that the perception of the pedagogical role is relevant in the practices of use of ICT in teaching and the need for pedagogical and didactic development for the optimal inculturation of ICT in educational establishments is evident. |
