| Abstract | With the recent introduction of Internet of Things, network protocols such as Wi-Fi, IEEE 802.15.4 and BLE are widely used in 2.4 GHz band in order to construct personal area networks. Accordingly, cross-technology interference (CTI) is intensifying. Yet, most studies assumed interference-free condition and did evaluations after eliminating interference sources or choosing interference-free time and place. However, we found that one of the conditions expected to be interferencefree could be wrong. In this paper, we analyze the interference created by Wi-Fi from the perspective of IEEE 802.15.4 and experimentally confirm that interference may occur if there is a large number of APs even though there will not be many users. In addition, we confirm that routing protocol and data collection applications may not work properly. Keywords—2.4GHz band, Wi-Fi, IEEE 802.15.4, corss technology interference (CTI) |
